Q: When you travel, what is your best hack for getting from one place to another?

Tanya: I use rome2rio.com. It’s the best website to see all the possible ways you can reach your destination, how long each takes and how much they all cost. It really is one of the most useful travel sites out there.

Q: How many countries have you traveled in so far?

Tanya: 40 something, but I have a problem with returning to a lot of countries time after time instead of going to a new place to explore. But can you blame me for wanting to return to Bali or Italy every year?!

Q: What countries are next on your list?

Tanya: I’d like to revisit a few of my favourite countries in S.E Asia such as Thailand and the Philippines. I’d also like to see a few new places like Nepal, Tibet and Sri Lanka. Places with really beautiful and unique landscapes.

Q: What is your favorite place in the world to travel and why?

Tanya: That would easily be Bali. I’ve visited every year for the last 3 years and will happily keep going back. The people are incredibly friendly, their villas are so beautifully designed, the food is delicious, there’s always a new waterfall or beach to explore and it’s super convenient and cheap for Aussies to travel to.

Q: What was your favorite meal that you’ve had while traveling?

Tanya: Both have been in Italy. The best sandwich I’ve ever had was from All’Antico Vinaio in Florence and the best pasta from Gastronomia San Martino in Cinque Terre, which is ironic considering I didn’t think I really liked pasta before I ate there. I would return to both those places purely for the food.

Q: Do you ever take days off from exploring while you’re traveling? If so, how did you spend those days?

Tanya: Yes of course traveling is exhausting. I usually spend those days relaxing at the hotel or airbnb catching up on TV shows and doing research for the next part of the trip.

Q: How has traveling long term changed your view of home?

Tanya: It definitely makes me appreciate home much more and everything that Australia offers.
